This holiday has been designed for families with school-age children and teens. It starts by the morning train from Helsinki to the town of Imatra in eastern Finland. This is where you will meet your local host,  go through your route plan with her and get your bicycles and panniers in order to start the first part of your holiday cycling from Imatra on a sheep farm on the island of Äitsaari. You will stay in a traditional Finnish summer cabin hosted by a family living next to your cabin. This leg is the longest one, almost 43km but as there is no timetable, you can stop as many times as you want. Sauna, swimming and tasty food will reward you at the farm. 

On next day, you will get a ride over the lake by a small ferry and cycle along a country road from Utula village to Kyläniemi pier. Every now and then you will see lake Saimaa. It is well possible to stop and have a break on a beach of Huuhaanranta. You will then take one of those cycle ferries over lake Saimaa to Sarviniemi in Taipalsaari and cycle to the cabin, where your local hosts have delivered not only your luggage but also a delicious dinner for you. 

Your two days in Taipalsaari have no schedules. It is up to you if you want to make the cycle and hiking trips recommended. If you like, you can as well have a relaxing day at the cabin. in the evening of day 4 or in the morning of day 5, we'll pick up your luggage and meet you again in Lappeenranta to take back you bicycles before you jump on train back to Helsinki.
