This winter activity tour takes you up north to the most southern Arctic hills less than 2 hours from Oulu. The rail journey to Oulu takes 6 hours. We have combined an overnight husky safari with a 3-day ski or snowboard school making this holiday ideal for families with children from 7 years up to 16 years. No problem if you are not interested in downhill skiing yourself. There are other winter sports available for you.

In our sample itinerary, we start by dogsledding but we can also start by the skiing part and leave dogsledding last as you wish. Unless you are able to take an earlier train, you will arrive by midnight to the husky farm and sleep the first night there. After breakfast next morning you will get your overalls and other mushing equipment first, then meet your team of huskies. Children under 10 years of age sit in a sleigh but children older than 10 can get their own team of sledge dogs. You will drive through the magical, snow-loaded forests and over the hills to a wilderness cabin with no modern facilities. First, you will take care of the dogs, then you start warming up the cabin and sauna. After the sauna, you will have dinner together and sleep in one big room. The maximum number of participants is 6. Next morning you will drive back to the farm. On both days there is a lunch break by an open fire. 

Next part of the tour consists of three full days of ski-school, either by skis or snowboard. If you or someone in the group is not interested in Alpine skiing, there is a guided winter sports activity for every day (=fatbiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing). On one night, we'll take you snowmobiling after dinner night time. If you are lucky, you can see the northern lights. On last morning, you can still go fat biking or for a walk as you only need to leave in the afternoon. 

Please note! It is also possible to include a quick visit in Rovaniemi at the beginning of this tour with no extra cost by reducing one night from the ski hotel!
