Tromso was the starting point for many polar expeditions. Today it is a lively Arctic city hosting a lot of tourists coming to hunt for northern lights and admire the stunning nature surrounding Tromso. You can see steep mountains and beautiful fjords during your day tours and transfers. Due to the Golf stream, the climate on the Norwegian coast is milder, the average winter temperature is only -4 degrees Celcius compared to the Finnish Lapland where the average temperature in January-February is -12,5 degrees Celcius.

Snow is not guaranteed yet to arrive in November but the whales arrive yearly at the same time to feed on herring. The best time for whale watching is from November to the end of January.

Fjellheisen Cable Car runs from Solliveien in Tromsdalen up to the mountain ledge Storsteinen (421 m above sea level) in just four minutes.
