Overnight Husky Safari in Yllas Lapland, 2 days

2 days and 1 hour

Challenging

A two-day husky safari in a small group of maximum 5 participants with a night in a wilderness cabin

Spend two unforgettable days on a dogsledding adventure far beyond the Arctic Circle. An eager team of Alaskan Huskies will take you on an overnight tour in the wilderness.

Husky Ranch Lapland is a small, family-owned husky farm specialized in unique, longer husky adventures for small groups of adults. After arrival at Husky Ranch Lapland, you will be greeted by your guide and the other owner of the ranch, Juho. You will get a briefing on the 2 days to come, get quality thermal clothing, pack the sleds and harness the dogs. You have 4-5 dogs in front of your own sled. When everything is ready, we head out to the wilderness. For the next two days, it’s just you, snowy landscape and the dogs!

Driving distance on the first day is about 40km. You will drive through the taiga forest and across frozen marsh and creeks.  After twenty kilometres of mushing, we take a little break and its snack time both for the dogs and the people!  We mush a few hours more before arriving at the overnight base. The dogs are fed first and then the cabin is heated and reindeer stew prepared as dinner.

Next morning, dogs will get food first and only then breakfast will be served in the cabin. On the second day, the driving distance is 40-50 kilometres in total.
At the halfway, lunch by an open fire is prepared. Back at the Husky Ranch, it's time to say bye-bye to our furry teammates and to have a cup of hot chocolate with the group in the main building of the Husky Ranch.

“We did a two day tour with Juho and husky’s. A unique experience in the wonderful world of snow. The huskies are very smart, strong, very sweet, and you’re really part of a team. A wonderful experience to refresh you’re head, to ‘feel’ Finland, and to be into the wild. The overnight stay was a unique experience in the forest cabin. We were suprised with a sauna and the northern lights was dancing around. Juho is an excellent guide and takes good care of you and the husky’s of course in the first place! ”
