Rountrip from Tromso to the Lofoten islands, 2 weeks
Experience the amazing landscapes of northern Norway traveling by bus, ferry and car.
The arrival and departure place of this holiday is Tromso with the best flight connections in northern Norway.
You will first get a ride to an archipelago hotel southwest from Tromso. Here it will be easy to relax and get on a holiday mode. In our sample tour, you would have a kyak trip here. Your tip continues by bus to the Senja island, where you will stay in a hotel built on a pier in a small seaside village called Mefjord. There are excellent hiking routes on the fell leaving from the village. The rountrip conitnues by a long bus ride from Senja all the way to the Lofoten islands and ends up in another small village called Kabelvåg with a nice, small hotel. Next day, you will take a halfan hour boat tour to Skrove, where quiet trails and beautiful beaches await. You will hike 3h and take the same boat back tothe hotel.
You could then rent a car for 3 days in order to visit the southern part of the island in the neighbourhood of a city called Reine. On the way there, you can well stop to visit the Lofotr Viking Museum. Accommodation near Reine takes place in a tiny apartment of a fisherman's cabin. You have 2 full days to spend completely as you wish enjoying the Lofoten summer before returning the car and taking abus again to Harstad in the northern part of Lofoten. Harstad is a little bit bigger town located in the middle of nature. We have included a guided hike on mount Keipen but if you rather would like more kyaking, it is well possible here, too.
You will return to Tromso by a fast ferry, which feels more like a water bus. Depending on your flights, you will spend 1 or 2 nights in Tromso in the end. The most popular sight in summer of Tromso is the Fjellheisen gondola taking you up on a mountain.
